I'll be taking a photo for each day of the year and posting it here. I'll be looking to shoot daily life, big events, little events, odds and ends, ones I love, favorite things, and beauty in the ordinary. So if you see me pointing my camera at you, smile! :)

Day 363

Other than the actual taking of photos- I sat in the basement at this desk pretty much all day. I edited, scheduled, replied to emails, etc, etc all day long- and still have a lot of catching up to do! I am so thankful that my 'real' job has these breaks throughout the year or I'd never been caught up! (As if I ever am anyway.....)

Day 320

I ended up working 15+ hours this day. I did manage to find time to get a $3 scarf in the mail to the winner from a post on my other blog. I hadn't realized that the scarf was originally $30. That's an even better deal that I thought! :)

Day 318

I was so tired today that I fell asleep in the car on the way home from church. When I woke up, I had to get ready for a newborn session. Thankfully the little guy was super sweet and cooperative. Big brother and his pal, Woody, were too! :)
Seriously though, can you look at this little guy without saying awww out loud?

Day 308

I know I have fingerless gloves somewhere... but I haven't pulled out the winter works yet. In the meantime, this set of gloves with the finger tip missing does the trick.

PS- If you are bored, try taking a photo of your right hand taking a photo, using your left hand. (Did you follow that?)

PPS- It wasn't as cold as I was expecting and we managed to complete the entire shoot outdoors!

Day 307

R is gone for the night at conferences
so I'm
1. editing
2. loving a mug of caramel spice
and now after seeing this picture.... 3. dusting

Who am I trying to kid? I'm not really dusting.

Full Disclosure:
This is the final straw- I'm asking for a house cleaner for Christmas. I really just contemplated photoshopping the dust out before I considered dusting the desk. Sad. Really sad.

Day 289

I wanted to take a photo of my table set up from today's mini-sessions. I had it set up all cutesy for the morning sessions but when we went back this afternoon, the place was packed! So I'm cheating and using a photo I snagged of M&M's hats that they wore for their photos. I matched them to the amazingly awesome coats their Uncle Cole picked out. I made them at school so the girls could see a simple sewing project. (I try to do a lot of little projects like that in front of them during this unit- have any good ideas for me?) Now ALL the girls from my study hall (all but one, ha), want to make the fabric flowers. K's girls are starting a local trend. :)
Oh- all that to say that today's photo represents my day of photo sessions that we had (yet another day of) absolutely perfect weather for!!!!

Day 288

R is such a good hubby. He helped me set up for a weekend of mini-sessions. AND he made some props for me. He's good!!!! (Seriously, look at that chalk board talk bubble- you want him to make you one too, dontcha?)

Day 277

I am getting soooo close to having a space of my own. LOVING it! And my hubby that's put in countless hours to make it happen!

Day 273

Getting excited for this closet to be cleared of photography stuff........

Day 270

I took this photo that day because I was so stressed about all the sessions I had to catch up on editing and it felt soooo good to have two ready to send out. (I did get caught up- it felt even better to be all finished- but I've been even busier since!)

Day 268

I second shot a wedding today. My favorite part: being reminded of how much I love my husband and how much I love being married to him.

Day 258

I try to limit my schedule to two sessions a week during the school year. This week I ended up with four sessions. Typically I spend a total of 8-10 hours working on a session (communications, editing, shooting, etc). Add a few hours for a newborn session. Tonight's session was a newborn session. After our long Wednesday work day. I didn't get a 365 photo of life but I think you'll forgive me if I post a photo from tonight's newborn session instead. ;)

Day 257

I realize most of my tags lately are 'photography.' This one is going to be as well. Between working and more working, most of my 365 shots have been real quick or because I was working on something else (not thinking 365). So this shot was me fixing the settings for a picture with some backlighting from the window. Dakota is kind of a camera hog. He jumped in front of my shot and wouldn't move till I took some pictures of him. What a ham.

Day 256

I'm learning some photography too.... had a great lesson from a great local photographer today at Starbucks. This SOOC shot was custom white balanced. I said I would experiment with using it more often.... so far I haven't...

Day 255

Guess who is learning how to use the camera? :)

Day 250

Tuesdays and Thursdays get long..... R asked what I was taking a picture of here and I said, "a pile of stuff." "Why?" "Because that's about how I feel today."

I love having the best of both worlds. On the nights I'm not doing photography related work, I miss it. But this double life is definitely a busy one!

Day 236

I'm so glad I gave myself a week off from photo sessions to get back into the school routine. I had my first session of the school year tonight and was dead tired. I fell asleep on the couch before it so R had the great idea of running to the store and getting me a Pepsi. The only thing he forgot to pick up was the IV for the Pepsi that I'm going to need the rest of the school year.
It's exhausting but I absolutely loved doing another session tonight!! I had really missed it! I may need to invest in some more Pepsi to get me through this school year........ :)

Day 231

Teacher by day. Pretend photographer by night. It's only the first day of it, but this double life is exhausting.

Day 229

So yesterday was the first day back to the job that pays the bills. I came home for lunch and was super excited to see a box labeled Kelly Moore on the front porch. What a great day for it to arrive. I used it today and R was convinced that I suckered him into letting me get a new purse in disguise as a camera bag. It really is a camera bag. Just a cute one. :)

Day 224

I couldn't decide what tag to attach to this day.... We had 20+ people at our house throughout the day. Some for photo sessions. Some to work on our basement (not because of flooding- thankfully!). Some were neighbors sharing their concerns about the water (or lack of water) situation. Some to bathe since their own city (Ames) was still without water. (Some I know I'm forgetting...) Some for emergency daycare/to help H with accounting. :)
